Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956), Chennai Campus, marked the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 with an extraordinary achievement by organizing a large-scale yoga event that earned official recognition as a Nova World Record.
The event brought together more than 1,500 participants, who successfully performed a continuous non-stop yoga session for 20 minutes and 26 seconds, demonstrating remarkable endurance, discipline, unity, and commitment to holistic health and well-being.
The program was conducted under the inspiring themes “Yoga for Health, Harmony & Well-being” and “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflecting the global vision of yoga as a powerful tool for fostering physical fitness, mental wellness, social harmony, and environmental consciousness.
Participants enthusiastically engaged in the yoga performance, showcasing synchronization, concentration, and collective spirit. The event served as a meaningful platform to promote the benefits of yoga and encourage healthy lifestyle practices among students, faculty members, and the wider community.
This remarkable accomplishment was achieved under the guidance and leadership of Dr. V. K. Omprakash, Director of Sports, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed University, Chennai Campus, whose dedication and encouragement played a vital role in the successful execution of the record attempt.
In recognition of this outstanding achievement, the event was officially awarded a Nova World Record and entered into the Nova Book of Records under Record No. NWRPL26Y-3063, dated 20 June 2026.
