Valliammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School Achieves Nova World Record on International Yoga Day 2026

Chennai, Tamil Nadu – June 22, 2026

On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day 2026, Valliammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar East, Chennai, accomplished a remarkable milestone by organizing a unique yoga awareness program that earned official recognition as a Nova World Record.

As part of the event, 28 students demonstrated exceptional skill, concentration, and confidence by performing 26 different yoga poses, including a variety of animal yoga poses and balancing poses, all while blindfolded. The extraordinary performance was conducted to create awareness about the importance of “Yoga in Your Life” and to encourage people to embrace yoga as a pathway to healthier living.

The students displayed remarkable balance, flexibility, coordination, and mental focus throughout the performance. Executing multiple yoga postures while blindfolded required a high level of body awareness, discipline, and dedication, making the achievement truly exceptional.

The awareness program was designed to inspire individuals of all ages to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and experience its numerous physical, mental, and emotional benefits. By promoting the practice of yoga, the school aimed to encourage healthier lifestyles, greater mindfulness, and overall well-being within the community.

In recognition of this outstanding accomplishment, the achievement has been officially recognized as a Nova World Record and recorded in the Nova Book of Records under Record No. NWRPL26Y-3062, dated June 22, 2026.

The management, teachers, students, and parents of Valliammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School expressed immense pride in this prestigious recognition. The achievement reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting holistic education, physical fitness, and personal development through the practice of yoga.
