In a remarkable display of physical endurance, mental concentration, and yogic discipline, M. Naveen of Swamy Vivekanandha Naturopathy and Yoga Medical College has achieved a prestigious Nova World Record through an exceptional yoga performance dedicated to the 12th International Yoga Day 2026.

M. Naveen successfully set the record for the longest duration of holding Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) while carrying a total weight of 24 kilograms and being blindfolded. The challenge involved balancing 12-kilogram weight plates on each thigh, while maintaining the posture continuously for an impressive 12 minutes and 12 seconds.

The record attempt was undertaken as a tribute to the 12th International Yoga Day and to promote awareness of the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” The feat highlighted the profound benefits of yoga in enhancing physical strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, and overall well-being across all stages of life.

Performing the posture while blindfolded added an additional level of difficulty, requiring exceptional focus, stability, body awareness, and mental resilience. The successful completion of the challenge demonstrated the power of dedicated yogic practice and the potential of yoga to cultivate both physical and mental excellence.

In recognition of this extraordinary accomplishment, the achievement has been officially recognized as a Nova World Record and entered into the Nova Book of Records under Record No. NWRPL26Y-3064, dated June 21, 2026.

This outstanding achievement brings pride to Swamy Vivekanandha Naturopathy and Yoga Medical College and serves as an inspiration to yoga practitioners, students, and wellness enthusiasts worldwide. It reinforces the message that regular yoga practice can contribute significantly to healthy ageing, improved quality of life, and holistic health.

M. Naveen’s remarkable accomplishment stands as a testament to dedication, perseverance, and the transformative power of yoga in achieving extraordinary human potential.
