Dharani Matric Higher Secondary School, Dharani Nagar, Vasudevanallur, Tamil Nadu Sets New Nova World Record

On October 26, 2024, Dharani Matric Higher Secondary School in Dharani Nagar, Vasudevanallur, Tamil Nadu, India, organized an impressive event where 100 students from various age groups gathered to perform the Lagu Vajrasana pose. In a unique twist to symbolize environmental awareness, each student held a plant in their hands and maintained the pose for an impressive 120 seconds. This event aimed to promote the “Go Green” initiative, merging the values of yoga, health, and environmental sustainability.

This remarkable feat has been recognized as a new Nova World Record, officially registered under Record No.: NWR-2024-1148 in the Nova Book of Records.

The event was co-organized by Mr. S. Arunkumar and Mr. M. Kumar, with a warm welcome address by Ms. M. Selvakani, M.A., M.Phil., B.Ed., a Postgraduate Teacher at Dharani Matric Higher Secondary School. Presiding over the event was Er. M. Ramalingam, B.E., AMIE., the Correspondent of Dharani Institutions.

Esteemed Guests and Record Acknowledgement

The school welcomed distinguished Chief Guests, Mr. S. Velladurai Pandian, Chairman of Vyasa Arts & Science Women’s College, and Ms. V. Vellathai, B.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., D.S.M., D.E.A., Managing Director of Vyasa Arts & Science Women’s College, Subramaniyapuram. The Guest of Honour, Dr. R. Kulandai Samy, M.A., B.Ed., M.Phil. (Eng), M.Phil. (Edn), M.A. (Com. Lit), M.Sc. (Psy), Ph.D., who is also the Principal of Dharani Matric Higher Secondary School, addressed the gathering.

Mr. S. Arunkumar, Director of Prana Yoga Academy with an Advanced Diploma in Yoga, led the awards presentation and concluded with a Vote of Thanks. The event closed on a patriotic note with the National Anthem. The Nova World Record adjudication was conducted by B. Guru Prasath, B.Com., DYED., MBA, who confirmed and registered the achievement in the Nova Book of Records.

This event not only showcased the students’ dedication and discipline in yoga but also underscored the importance of environmental awareness, inspiring the community to embrace the values of health, sustainability, and unity with nature.
