Green Valley Matriculation Higher Secondary School, located in AGS Colony, Chromepet, Nemilicherry, Chennai, hosted a grand celebration to commemorate both the 78th Independence Day and Teachers’ Day. The event was a blend of patriotism and gratitude, highlighting the school’s dedication to holistic education and well-being.

The centerpiece of the celebration was a mass performance of Kurmasana (Tortoise Pose), where the majority of participants held the pose for an impressive 78 seconds. This effort was aimed at raising awareness of general health and well-being, emphasizing the importance of yoga in daily life.

This remarkable achievement has earned the school a place in the Nova World Records, with an official entry registered in the Nova Book under Record No.: NWR-2024-1144, dated September 5, 2024.

The event was orchestrated under the guidance of Lion Dr. P. Muthu (M.Sc, M.A, B.Ed, Ph.D), Founder & Correspondent, and Mrs. S. Malarvizhi (M.Sc, B.Ed, M.Phil), Principal, whose leadership has always been a source of inspiration. Special recognition goes to the Yoga Teacher, S. Sridevi Swaminathan, who diligently prepared the students for this historic feat.

The event was graced by Rajkumar Natarajan, Editor, and Manasa Devi, Adjudicator from Nova World Records, who were present to officially document the record. The celebration also welcomed several distinguished guests, including Lions Club officials, parents, and other dignitaries, who witnessed and applauded this extraordinary accomplishment.

This record-breaking performance not only reflects the school’s commitment to promoting health and discipline but also serves as an inspiring example for the community, showcasing the power of unity and dedication.
