Mr. J. Meghanatha Reddy IAS (Member Secretary and CEO, Sports Authority of Tamil Nadu) and Mrs. Deepika (homemaker), an 8-year-old boy from Tamil Nadu, India, has made history by setting a new Nova world record in swimming under the guidance of Mr. Raja, District Sports Officer of Virudhunagar. In front of Mr. Manikandan, DRO, Mrs. J. Sujatha, regional senior manager, and sports development authority of Tamil Nadu officers, events were held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium Swimming Pool, Chennai, on April 28, 2023.

“Nothing Beats Passion”

Viraj Aarush Reddy. J was curious to learn more about water animals and wanted to understand how they are able to float in water. The question he asked himself made him the undisputed world record holder. It’s official—he’s now a world record holder! After months of hard work and dedication, he has achieved something no one has ever done before. He managed to float on water for 54 minutes and 57 seconds without any external support. His accomplishment is a true testament to his incredible determination and strength of character, as he was able to achieve such an amazing feat at such a young age.
