Multi Talented Student
Varun Gopalan (born 11th Oct 2007) is a multi-talented young boy, studying currently in 10th standard at San Academy, Pallikaranai, Chennai. Since his primary classes, Varun has been an outstanding student and always has had ranks in top 2 in all subjects. Varun also has varied interests and competes in interschool, state level, national level and international level competitions. He has won nearly 100 medals, 25 trophies and more than 150 certificates in events, such as drawing/painting, western dance, essay, creative and story writing, oratory, karate and Silambam. He has a black belt in karate and qualified at 3rd level in silambam. At School: He has won general proficiency (best student) awards, the recent one being in 2021, for 8th standard and star of the month for April 2022. Elected as assistant head boy as well as school head boy on back-to-back years during his primary school. He successfully completed an aeromodelling program and participated in a missile launching competition honoring former president Dr. Abdul Kalam. He has won many prizes in the intra school competitions in drawing, painting, quiz, essay writing, western dance, recitation, and oratory, etc. He was awarded ‘Vithaga Sirpi award in karate and “Gnana Sudar ‘award for multi talent from ‘Sri Darshini Kalai Koodam’ affiliated to TN Music & Fine Arts society in 2018-19 and 2019-2020 respectively. He has won Master of Talents award and Young achiever award for his performance in western dance, Silambam and Drawing at Guinness world Asian book of awards, held at Chennai in 2019. He has also won extraordinary performance medals, certificates from Noble World records for drawing, western dance, karate, silambam, essay writing, oratory, poem writing, creative writing for multi talents for 2 consecutive years, in 2020 and 2021. He was selected through a state level exam in science to visit NASA headquarters in the US to view space launch in 2019 Nov. Unfortunately the 2020 pandemic abandoned the visit. He also won a rising star award in the senior category of Happy writers contests and got his story (48. A Magical Ride- Back to History) published in the My chapter one reading website YWW-S1-Storybook.pdf (mychapterone.com) in 2020. Won diamond artist word in the ultimate expression 2021, & sparkling imagination 2022 international drawing competition conducted by PICASSO arts wherein 2000 artists from 48 countries participated.
